Tactical Flashlight on Airplane?

Could you carry something like a SureFire E2D onto an airplane or in a carry bag? Any TSA people on the forum that can answer that?

I think someone answered this before. I think if it's a small one. I can't remember what the rule is.

I'm pretty sure I had mine when I last flew: 2 AA 3W Ray-O-Vac. Not black tacticool, but metal and solid.

I also was having back problems at the time and brought my 1.5" brass hame-topped hickory stick with me.

I carried my Surefire E2D without issue.

Just dump it in the bin with your wallet and shoes...

I usually have my 6p LED in my carry on, never had a problem with it. Personally I'd be careful with some of the "strike bezel" lights, but other than that I've never had a problem with a flashlight in my bag.

I've always carried a flashlight of some type with me on all flights after July of 1989...one of my SureFires.

My two boys and I were flying back from Alaska in July of 1989. A few days before the flight, we changed one 'leg' of our route.:
We were ticketed for seats 15 A, B, & C on board this flight, but instead changed to a different plane in Denver.
YouTube - Sioux City Crash

There were around 300 people scheduled for that flight and only two-thirds walked away through dense smoke and darkness...I'm sure that many of those in the darkness wished that they had had a light source with them.

I now keep my SureFire on a lanyard around my neck and tucked inside my shirt when flying.
