Of course I do.

Wow, more people carry a knife with them than I imagined. I think we might have wondered slightly off topic in posting standard pocket knives, but still good results. I was asking who carried one for defense because lots of people carry a back-up gun, this would just be another back-up with more uses. My only concern is that my pockets will be too full. I'm a contractor and already carry enough weight in my pockets on a daily basis, let alone with a tool belt. I guess I just need more pockets. Seriously though folks, thanks for your help, I'm looking into a Spyderco Endura as we speak!

I usually carry a Kershaw Ken Onion Leek in the rainbow trim. The Spyderco Endura is certainly a good edc tactical folder as well.

Yes.

Currently and over the last five years...
Fixed blade: Ka-Bar 'TDI Law Enforcement Knife' w/ fully serrated blade
&
Folding blade: Gerber 'Applegate-Fairbairn Combat' single bevel w/partial serration

I do not use either of them to ever cut open boxes, tape, nor whittle wood.
There are better tools for such purposes like a less than dollar value box cutter or an X-Acto knife which I also keep at hand around the house and in my range kit for such general purpose uses.

Both the Ka-Bar and Gerber are built robustly and maintain a tomato skin cutting sharp edge.

I grew up carrying a knife specifically for defense and that to me is far more natural and normal by experience than carrying a handgun, which I've been doing since my 20s.

Yes, a good mexican always has one.
But really I use one daily for work and I have a nice gentleman's blade for after hours. I like cold steel for work due to the lightness and durability. I have about 12 kershaw for everything else. -talk about keeping an edge!
I do not have a tactical blade, though.

Guess I would be considered a good mexican because I ALWAYS carry a Benchmade 950. Don't know if it's considered tactical or not, but it is my opinion that any knife could be considered tactical in a pinch...
