Rubber-like Grips for XD?

I'm looking for some suggestions and input on getting Rubber-like grips for my sub-compact SD.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I went to Home Depot, in the section where they sell stuff for decks. I looked at the grip tape they sell for steps. They had sandpaper type, and rubbery type. This looks and feels like the same stuff the stick on grips you buy online is made from.

Othewise, I like the Hogue and Pachmeyer about the same. The Hogue gives a hint of a palm swell, but the Pachmeyer is more streamlined. Both will need to be installed (or modified in a way) as to avoid contact with the grip safety.

When I had the Pachmeyer on mine, instead of cutting out a spot for the safety, I just put it on upside down. It worked great that way.

I'm not a huge fan of the grip-tape like textures...

I ended up using bicycle tube to make a grip... it worked pretty well I think... I'd like it to be thicker and might enjoy the finger groves, but this is a good temporary fix.

cost me $2-3 bucks...

I'll post pics when I get a hold of a half-decent camera

Bicycle tube is what I use on Glock. My nephew told me about it. He is a big Glock nut.

Bicycle tube is a good option to try. Most bike shops have old tubes in their trash cans. Just ask, they may just give them to you free - that's how I got a few.

Also they are thin and flexible so you can try a different number of layers to see what feels best. Also some have ribbed areas, so you can have the top layer ribbed or smooth.
