This may help. Good luck.

Sounds like you have Ace locks on your cabinet. You can drill open the locks with a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch drill bit down the center of the lock. Make sure you wear eye protection. There will be lots of metal shavings. Drill ALL the way through the lock. Hopefully the locks don't have hardened steel pins in the center. By drilling down the center you are trying to drill the tailpiece off the lock. After you have opened your cabinet, take what is left of the locks tailpiece and all to your local locksmith or locksmith supply house and replace them with Medeco cam locks. You should be able to get two keyed alike. Save the code number tab that comes with the locks. You can have keys made from the code number if you loose your key. Then just have the locks rekeyed to a new key. Medeco locks are MUCH better, they are drill resistant and almost pick proof.

It's most likely a file cabinet style set. Any locksmith can do the job quickly. Many advertise mobile services.

IMHO, that's not a safe, but rather a BG transportation container for multiple weapons. I'm just sayin'...

got mine from harbor freight. Its bolted to the floor and wall. cost $200 and is a combo key or keypad. I know its not perfect but I'm hoping a BG would give up breaking into it as its in an akward place to get a drill.

Gardall makes some good safes, and quite reasonably priced....
I got a unit that utilizes both combination and key locks..there are 4
1" hardened steel rods on the door (2 left side, 2 right) that, when locked, recess ~1 1/2" into the sidewalls of the safe frame.....
The door hinges are covered when the safe is closed...S&G lockset(s) and a UL/NFS 2-hour fire rating....
Mine's bolted THROUGH the floor...into 2 pieces of 1/2" Diamondplate, bolted AGAIN....and the bolts are BRAZED to the hardened steel rod....
Did I mention the safe alone (empty) weighs 210 lbs.--??
Got a good price from a local (long-time) locksmith; it was a demo...last one in stock (they ARE still being made....), but I saved over $100....Yes...they delivered it...2 guys, about 15 minutes (I did the install work...).
Gardall safes are made in Syracuse, NY...U.S.A.!!!
My unit can easily hold several handguns, plus extra mags, ammo, etc. There ARE larger safes, priced accordingly....
BTW....Copies of the combination are "secured" in various sites, both on- and off-premises.....
Godd luck on your "cracking"...Hope you don't have to resort to "soup" (burglar parlance for nitroglycerin)....!

After reading a little more about the Homak safes (or cabinets...) I don't think I can get a replacement key, based on the code stamped on the front. I think I will drill them out, as suggested, and then spend some money on a combo safe.

I'll just tell my wife "it's for the children...."

After reading this post the first thing that came to mind is as you can see "You Tube" offers easy ways to open cheap locks. I remember reading a thread on a guy that got his gym locker broken into and had his firearm stolen. He was using a Masterlock that You Tube has several tips on how to make the "shim". And also have a away to get into the "drink machine" type of locks. Well as we all know the internet is full of ideas of just about anything. I chose to look around a couple of years ago to upgrade to a better safe because of this very issue. I got lucky and found a scratch and dent model at a local Gun Shop. Of course the scratch and dent was on the back so no worries for me. The safe listed for $1499.00 and I got it for $ 800.00 delivered and installed. A bit more than I wanted to spend but I think I did ok. Check out the link. I got the Sergeant Series. The color (burgundy) wasn't the color I would have chossen but it is in a closet so I live with it.
