Zero .40 Cal 180 TCFM Glock 23 Load

Do not shoot cast lead bullets and/or any reloads in any factory Glock .40 cal barrel. Glock factory .40 cal barrels do not fully support the case. Do not shoot any cast lead loads in any factory Glock barrel; Glock barrels are not made for cast lead bullets.
Bullet selections are specific, and loads are not valid with substitutions of different bullets of the same weight. Variations in bullet length will alter net case capacity, pressure and velocity. Primer selection is specific and primer types are not interchangeable. These are loads that work in my firearms and may easily be excessive in others. All loads should be reduced by 10%, and developed following safe hand loading practices as represented in established reloading manuals produced by component manufacturers. Presentation of these loads does not constitute a solicitation for their use, nor a recommendation.

This week I worked up a new load for my Glock 23. This load groups well, has low recoil and is very easy to shoot.

Gun: Glock 23 with a KKM Precision barrel.
Bullet: Zero .40 cal 180 TCFM.
Powder: 6.2 grains of Accurate #5
Primer: Winchester WSP.
Brass: Used Speer.
Bullet Seat: 28.28mm
Velocity: 792 fps over my old Pro-Tach chronograph.
Dies: RCBS
Press: Dillon 550 (one of the first made)

The only problem is the Accurate #5 is dirty. After 400 rounds the gun was a mess. Thank goodness for Wal-Mart brake cleaner. I like this load over my Tennessee Valley 180 gr cast lead loads. When the Accurate powder is gone I will not buy any more. I got 1,000 rounds of Zero/Rainier 155 gr FP bullets that I will work up a load for with Accurate #5 this month. I am out of the 180 gr bullets and I am not going to buy anymore. I think the 155 gr FP will work out better for range days.

155 grn bullets and titegroup powder has worked well for me.
