Well, it's on it's way. A Dillon XL650 with all the accessories except the auto case feeder and that will be next.

I have 2 lbs of powder and 1,000 cases, primers and bullets and I'm really looking forward to this as it'll mean much more practice time at the range.
With the price of .45 acp seeming to be skyrocketing it was time to take the plunge.
This setup is supposed to do up to 1,000 rounds an hour even without the auto casefeeder but I'll be happy with 500 an hour.
Now to get more supplies and just in time for the arrival of warm weather

I ordered a Hornady Lock n Load AP. It's backordered and should be in next week. I'm starting with 9mm and will get .45 and .223 in short order. I would bet that I'm loading .223 by summer! Hopefully I will be able to do a few hundred an hour.

Don't carry your cellphone or let people distract you, also carefully check your powder weights and make sure you read the specs for the bullet properly, I almost used the wrong load specs last week, mixing up lead for jacketed.

Get a big tarp, that is if you shoot anywhere exept a range with a concrete floor. The worst part of reloading for an auto is trying to keep up with the brass.

I purchased a brass catcher that attaches to your right hand but don't use it very much cause it is akward to shoot with, that is where the big tarp come in.

If you haven't reloaded before or don't have much experience with it, one suggestion is don't get too carried away with the initial batches. You probably only want to load 50 -100, shoot them see how they shoot and work the loads from there. Nothing more frustrating than having several hundred rounds that don't shoot worth a damn and having to shoot them up so that you can rework the load.

Been there done that.

Anyway, good luck and enjoy. 3 weeks till the end of tax season and I can get back to loading and shooting again.

Good advice. I would like to add a caution for those reloading a cartridge that is used for both rifle and pistol. The reloading data may be different - be sure to check and check again. Case in point: 30cal Carbine. The Sierra reloading manual has separate sections for rifle and pistol reloads. If you were to load a near-max load using the pistol data sheet, the load exceeds the max for the rifle (for some powders). Just be sure to play it safe.
