I would opt for an area not in the main portion of the house. Mine is in a utility room off the garage. We don't have the extreme temperatures down here, as long as you don't count heat, as you have up there. My bench is almost 8 ft long, i use about 6 ft of it when reloading, and have shelving separate for storage of turrets, bullets, brass, cases etc. There are certain parts of the reloading process, mostly tumbling (very noisy) and separating media, but also charging stages that can be messy. I like to keep all that stuff outside the house and on a hard surfaced floor.
I store my powder and primers in my pistol safe inside the house and have desiccant in it to keep humidity out. I only bring the primers into the reloading area when priming, return the unuseds ones to the safe, then bring the powder into the area for charging and seating. I may not prime the same day as I charge and seat, but if I do that I put the primed brass into sealed containers for the couple of days until I finish them up.

Although I'll prime and powder the same day (XL650), I plan on doing the same. Thanks for all the great ideas. I'll probably go with the basement since it's the second best area.

It might be worth it to tough the cold for a few months in the garage...how long will you be out there at a time? An hour? You could make a few extra thousand in the fall to help last you through the winter... Just another opinion.

Well after yesterday, it looks like my project will be put off for a few months. My snowblower started having some problems and considering the use it gets up here, I blew $2300 on a new Ariens.

That sucks. I am in a financial situation myself. Looks like my head will be above water though.

![]() Really too bad your going to have to put this off. I was very excited about it when I first got my reloading gear. Of course, there is never an end to it either, now I am thinking seriously about casting my own bullets starting next year. Thanks alot Tubby. ![]()

farronwolf; if I make that suggestion, my blower will be used on me to carefully grind me up.
Tubby45; the blower isn't really a hardship issue, it's just my spare money and I never raid my savings to pay for my hobbies. I guess by delaying this a few months, I have a lot more ideas on how I want it laid out.
