Unique is on the slow side for .45, I like a faster burning powder like Clays, Solo-1000, or Bullseye. If you have your heart set on using Unique, bump the charge up to 5.5gr, decrease your OAL to between 1.250 and 1.260, and make sure your case wall is not less than .470 or more than .472 at the crimp. Correcting the crimp and OAL will almost certainly improve your function, but down the road, I highly reccomend a faster burning powder like the ones I mention above.

I really don't like Unique. But I have just given just over a 1/2LB of it and I want to use it up before getting me some Bullseye. I also like AA#2 for my .40 S&W with LC SWC bullets.

OK I went to the range today with my new loads 5.7GRs of Unique 200GR RN seated to a depth of 1.255. Worked like a charm!! Thanks all for the help!! FYI I called the MFG of my bullets and left a massage with them on monday and hear it is sunday with no call back!!
