I've used both, and I figure I break about even with adding the cleaning liquid. Also, the pre-treated stuff seems finer grained and less dusty, but the differences aren't great. But, I do have both the lizard bedding and bulk corn cob and use them, generally for the initial cleaning of the cases (I then clean them again after the deprime and primer pocket cleaning). They work just fine.

I bought a bottle of MidwayUSA - Frankford Arsenal Brass Case Polish 8 oz Liquid about 4 years ago and I still haven't finished it. At three spoonfuls every time I change to brand new media, it lasts a looong time and priced at $7.50 you'll go throgh media faster than the liquid.
Jay, I saw that the other day at Wally World and forgot about it. Thanks for posting it.

If you want, McMaster-Carr Supply Co. has blasting media in walnut and corncob variety. Search for it at McMaster-Carr - it comes in like a 15lb or 50lb box for $17 or $35 (plus shipping), and usually arrives the next day because they have warehouses across the nation. Very cheap and easy - I may have to see if someone wants to split the cost on some walnuts with me sometime for a 50lb box.
They also have pre-treated stuff, but I don't know if it's really worth it. |
