It is down to the individual posting to ensure safe standards and to readers to verify what they read - it is they finally who bear responsibility for useage of information. Remember - typos can occur! We strongly recommend that in most cases quoted loads be derived from recognized loading manuals and if possible these should be referenced. Where loads do not have back-up reference data available, for instance with use of an unusual powder, then posters are asked to please detail their method for establishing their data. Irresponsible publishing of unsubstantiated ''guestimated'' data is deprecated and may be heavily moderated. |

Anyone from Richmond, VA?
I have been reloading for a short time now and had no problems. Now I find that some of my .45 ACP casings have a dent, sometimes 3 dents right where the base tapers down. Some of them seem deep, while others seem to be minor. I shoot them through my Glock30. I was going to take some pix, but I cant seem to get a clear pix of them. I work in Richmond, VA and was wondering if maybe there may be someone here who is familliar with reloading that could take a look at these for me.

If no one on this forum can help I recomend OCDO or The Firing Line. These forums are full to the gunnels with Virginians.

Are they dents or bulges?
If they are bulges it can be caused by the unsupported breech in the Glock. This causes a bulge near the rim of the case on one side. If they are dents, this can be caused by the brass hitting the slide when it ejects. (pics would be helpful)

Stop by Dominion Range on a Monday night. They hold a IDPA style match there and many shooters are reloaders. They love to talk and you may want to shoot.

P.M. sent,
Also maybe try handloads.com What load are you using, powder / weight. My personal load is 5 grains Red Dot with a 230 JHP. A good question before, are they bulges to-wards the out side, or dents inward toward the inside of the casing. If so, what does the your chamber look like? how about the shell holder you are using for reloading, do the dents only appear after firing, or is that when you noticed them?
