Buying extra powder and primers is not a bad thing. It won't go bad for years and years if stored correctly and the prices will never be lower probably than what you paid today. Last time we bought primers and powder we bought about 10,000 primers of different types and 25 or so pounds of different powders. Plus I always keep real close to the legal allowable limit of black powder on hand at all times (50lbs).
