How good is Dillion "No BS warranty?"

I have been cruising the forum here (I'm a new member), and read several threads about Dillions "NO BS warranty". One especially was this one.
Another thumbs up for Dillon
I just recently got back into reloading and wanted to setup my Dillion Rl550B. I ordered the video for this press to help me. Well, as it turns out I had about the same problem a jonnyrigger in the link above. Well, I just got off the phone with Gary of Dillion Presicion. He told me I had to buy the parts that were ruined. He told me they do not replace because of that type of situation. I am mad as heck right now and think that it is unfair for,I guess, some agents at Dillion to give one a replacement part....FREE.....and them another to say "TOO BAD" you need to pay. SO. Just how good is there so called "NO BS WARRANTY"? For me, It SUCKS!, but, I guess they got me by the you know what and I'll have to spring for those replacement parts. Anybody have this kind of experience? I hope Mike Dillion reads this stuff.

The linked thread doesn't have johnnyrigger stating a problem...?

Sounds like something was damaged in setup?

I have two Square Deal B's.

Over the years I think I've replaced every part on each of them, including a broken frame on one. Apart from pieces I've lost, I've never had to pay a penny. Thumbs up from me. Maybe you got someone having a bad day? It might be worth another try. If not happy, ask for Mike himself.

In my experiance Dillon does stand behind the products they sell . Were i to buy a high end reloading outfit ( not likely because i have a bud who dont even cahrge me the time ) i would go dillon . He traded into the first unit ( a .45 ) used ,and since he has bought new . I know him well , and have shot a lot of his " reloads " . Never had a problem . Dillon works , be it progressive or not .
Just so all know , he just dropped .38 special and picked up .50 bmg . Now not that he runns the .50 on any progressive . However he now dont load his old .38 cases or mine . I suppose i could but he is 70 miles away . For myself , and for years i load rifle ammo on a single stage press . Partly because i can blackmail/ trade / beg even a custom run from a fella i trust when it comes to pistol . and secondairly i dont have the time to shot a thousand rounds a month in any caliber .

The " NO BS " is just what it says . Its like wall mart , no matter what they will warranty products . I know at least one case where dillon paid for LEE dies . What dillon wont do is pay for our screwups . Blow up your new S&W or Ruger .. well damm we are sorry . Your AR chamber is out of spec .. well damm , see above . Dillon however will live to the warranty of the products they sell . The products are " right " . when they sell them and they stand by the product , they dont stand behind what you or me might do with it tho , and nor should they .

In my experience the Dillon warranty is just what they say it is. I have never paid for any part that I needed replaced.

Regards,
Jerry

Well, Jerry, that's what I thought too. Especially when Dillion says NO BS. I always hear about how good they are. I must have gotten a new or maybe he was having a worse day than I was. Anyway, I believe you and all the rest. I wrote a letter to Mr. Dillion. Do you think he really reads letters sent to him....maybe a few? or hopefully all of them. I will see and let you guys know. or

I remember 10+ years ago when I had the Colt .45, I was reloading using the Square Deal. IIRC, the SD was intended for light to moderate number of reloads. Well, my friend and I were reloading several times a month what the SD was intended for.

After a year or so of reloading such quantity, some parts wore out. One of the things Dillon asked was, "how many rounds did we reload?". Of course we were honest and told them. Though they advised us that the SD was not meant for such heavy duty use, they sent us the parts free.

Thanks, and we will be interested to know the outcome. I recently had primers explode due to an adjustment of my 650 that caused the priming punch to be slightly off center. I had noticed that the primers were not seating smoothly, but thought it was tight primer pockets in the S&B cases. Evidently one went in with too much force and sudden enough to fire. Probably 50 were left, and all fired. Fortunately the steel outer cylinder prevented any safety problem.

I called Dillon, and the rep said they were going to send a complete primer assembly. I figured the cylinder that holds the primers would be enough. All I had to do was remove the assembly, and install the new.
I have had a couple of minor problems and none cost me a penny,

I hope your situation ends up as well.

Regards,
Jerry
