Low Flash Powder?

I was at a relatively dim range a couple weeks ago and noticed that 230grain Hydrashoks had excessive flash from a 4.1 and 5 inch barreled 1911s. Chuck Taylor's book Combat Handgunnery mentions this for hydrashoks as well. (wish I would have seen that before I reliability tested that load for 2 1911s!).

I know that Corbon touts low flash powder in their ammo, does anyone here know of any other manufacturers that do so?

Yep - seems H'shocks are among worst for flash.

I don't know whether it is made a sales pitch but for me anyways - Gold Dots are well muted for flash and IMO very acceptable.

Ditto Chris on the Gold Dot...not too much lighting up of the night sky.

Hornady's TAP ammo is supposed to have low-flash powder. I'll see if I can shoot some this next weekend and find out.

Golden sabres are supposed to have
flash supressed powders but the
357's i tried were really bright.
This was thru my 3" 65-3 on a dim
indoor range,i like the Federal
classic 357 125gr jhp's in this gun
as a carry load.I tried hornady
140gr 357 and they only had a small
red-orange flash that was pretty dim.
