At $5 per 100ct for .45 ACP that's $100 per thousand for fired brass. For that price just buy new. Fired brass goes for $55-65/K shipped on the forums.

You're right. I had 20=1000 in my head for some reason, probably counting ammo in the 50rd boxes I was shipping out.

Nearly all my .45 and 9MM were picked up after the police practiced. I don't know what they do now, but several years ago they left it on the ground. I picked up several thousand cases. They shot late, and so I had to get out to the range at daylight to get plenty of cases. I was not the only one scrounging them.
It was cold some mornings but worth it.I did buy 1,000 Starline brass cases in both .45 and .357 10 or 12 years ago, but have not needed them so far. I planned to use them for SD loads if necessary. As for range pick up brass the .357 has been the least available. Regards, Jerry |

Heres a good one, I was in our local "rip off" gun shop last week as they are the only one in the area to carry Lee products. They were selling once used .223 brass for $19 per 100!! Not deprimed and just barely what I'd call clean. I work once a week as Rangemaster at our local outdoor range and can carry home for free more brass that I'd ever need. I just cannot believe how gullible some people are and how dishonest some shop owners can be!! Sign of the times I suppose.

Imagine some 50 shooters at a local IDPA match, 5 stages at a min. of 18 rounds per stage and only 6 to 8 reloaders in the bunch. Two matches a month.
We are group of happy reloaders.
