9mm goes for $35/K shipped.
40 goes for $40/K shipped. 45 for some reason goes for $60-80 shipped. Lots of people shoot 9mm, .40 is mostly police range stuff so it's readily available, and the .45 varies. Very popular but not as much as 9mm, thus a higher price. I bought .45 brass for $60/K shipped for several years up until a few months ago when I streamlined my handguns and decided to stick with 9mm and 10mm for now. |

Thanks for the website tip. Brass is even hard to come by in Phoenix.

$0.00 per 1000. Realistically, one bottle of horse liniment for the back. I pick up plenty of those calibers free at the range.

When I get the time I can go to a local gun shop/range and sort through their boxes of brass swept up from the range to get exactly what I want for 6 cents each. At gun shows I've found sorted, cleaned brass as cheap as 4 cents each. Happy hunting.

I don't usually buy brass, but last year I did buy 200 once fired 38spl cases at a gun show for $16, IIRC .40 cal was about the same and 9mm a bit cheaper, with .45 costing $20 for $200. I do remember the price of the .45 since I thought about buying some, but then decided I didn't need them. I don't know if these are "market prices", but it seemed fair to me.
A guy in the local paper hereabouts was selling .45 acp for $5 per hundred a couple weeks back. I called him about some other stuff he had, and he told me he sold about 4500 rounds of .45 acp in one day. It was all that he had. So the demand is definately there, at least at that price. I bought 200 once fired and cleaned 30-06 cases from that him about three weeks back for $20 per hundred.($40). The best price of course is free. I worked at the range this weekend and the cops had been out doing some training during the month. They of course don't have to pay for their ammo, so they leave it on the ground. I picked up 148 once fired Hornady .223 (5.56) cases, and well over 100 Fed. 40S&W cases. Now that's the price I like:-)
