Question about old Powder

Picked up my powder today ADI-AP70N (Same as hodgson universal). The supplier had a couple of old tins (manfactured in 2001) he sold them to me for like $13US each so I grabbed them.

Tins are pretty rusted on the outside, they had been stored outside in a cinderblock bunker for 6-7 years.

I took the lids off and the powder is free flowing, still smells sweet and has no rust on the inside of can, looks exactly the same as the new stuff I have.

Is it still good ?

Can I store this is plastic tupperware \ click clack container ? as I dont fancy keeping it in rusty containers any longer.

It should be okay. Usually bad powder is off color (whitish dust) and smells unlike ether.

Do not store in plastic. The chemical makeup of gunpowder can interact with some types of plastic, deactivating it. Do not store in glass; it would be very good except for the potential bomb factor. Either cardboard or metal is the best bet. And metal cans should not include a strong container that will allow pressure to build before it breaks loose.

How rusty are the cans... if it is just light surface rust then keep the powder in the original cans, but if they are too far gone, then any good airtight light proof container would do.. Unique is stored in foil lined cardboard with plastic lids....

I'd be very careful about calling this the same as Universial. Get on-line and see if you can find actual load data for the powder.
