| Reloading DefensiveCarry.com accepts no liability for reloading information posted by members. It is down to the individual posting to ensure safe standards and to readers to verify what they read - it is they finally who bear responsibility for useage of information. Remember - typos can occur! We strongly recommend that in most cases quoted loads be derived from recognized loading manuals and if possible these should be referenced. Where loads do not have back-up reference data available, for instance with use of an unusual powder, then posters are asked to please detail their method for establishing their data. Irresponsible publishing of unsubstantiated ''guestimated'' data is deprecated and may be heavily moderated. |

As for Glocks, plated bullets work nicely if not pushed to maximum speeds. So do hard-cast bullets. It's the softer swaged lead bullets that cause the problems. It's all a matter of using the right components for the purpose at hand. Quote:

I use Unique all the time and have since I started reloading. Never had any issue with smoke from the powder at inddor ranges.
Now cast bullets with lube are a different story. (they smoke up the whole place) But with Unique and jacketed bullets I get along just fine thank you. So I doubt if Unique powder is the problem. Bullseye keeps my guns a little cleaner, but I notice no difference as far as smoke.

I would suggest you get at least one manual. A lot of people run down the Lee manual, "Modern Reloading, 2nd Edition", for being just a collection of other manufactures' data. However, it has all the data in one place, it has more data than any other single manual or internet source I have ever located, and its also the least expensive at less than $15. The Lee manual is simply faster to use than a computer, at least with my DSL connection.

I'm a Lee HandPress fan...I only load for .38/.357 for my Marlin 1894C levergun and my S&W 438 Bodyguard. I load about 150 cartridges a month is all so it's perfect for my needs.
Here is a pic my entire loading rig that fits in a sportsman's plastic dry box. I use alot of IMR TrailBoss powder but I like the sweet smell of Unique smoke...weird I know. |
