sgtD,
Thanks for the ray of sunshine in the dreary primer drought. I have orders for both primers and powders from Cabelas backordered. I have enough powder to keep me busy but the primers are driving me nuts. "For want of a nail the shoe was lost...etc." bosco |

Powder Valley site says they have 50 million primers on back order last time I looked, and that's just one supplier. My shooting buddy and I have 5000 on order and I'll be ordering another 5000 in a few days. They'll eventually catch up to the demand.

If you live in the Dayton, Ohio area, Olde English Outfitters in Tipp City has a bunch of primers. They are limiting purchases to 500 primers at a time.

Yesterday I saw large and small pistol primers on the shelf of a local gunshop in Tacoma, WA. Price was $39.99 / thousand plus WA state tax of nearly 10% so in our market it will take the better part of 44 bucks to purchase. I passed and waiting for Cabela's like bosco. How do those prices compare to your locality?

I paid $34.99 per box plus 6% sales tax for 1,000 CCI small pistol and 1,000 small rifle a couple of weeks ago at a local store.

A few days ago Wideners had Federal SPM & LP primers. $30/1000
I bought 5000 of each. With S&H + hazmat fee, it came to $32.8/1000 delivered to my door. Eventually the primer drought will be over, until then it is tough going. Buy em when you see em. |

I paid $29.00 + tax for 1000 Win. Sm Pistol last week. Six months ago I paid $24.00 for the same thing.
There is one guy near here who regularly sells primers (when He used to have them) for $40.00 per thousand. So it's not an outrageous price.
