Lee Turret Depriming

Would any of you folks mind posting a picture of your press. I'm interested in the tube that is used for the spent primers. I got my press and mounted it to my table and deprimed 500 casings. It suddenly occurred to me that they were going down the channel in the ram and into a hole in the press.... and collecting under the press. I had to unbolt the setup and clean up all the primers. I didn't get a tube with my kit but I'm interested in seeing what people are doing with their Lee press.

I don't have a pic...but I do have the tube. It currently contain hundreds of spent primers, and at least one or two hundred grains of powder. I suppose I should empty it. Bummer that you didn't get the tube...I would hope that Lee would take care of you if you called them, or you could find some tubing that fits at a hardware. Or just use a bucket?

So do I drill a hole through my bench so it falls out below the press?

My Lee Turret press came with the plastic tube that hooks up under the press. Maybe the classic press is different then the standard turret press. I hope the picture attached will help.

hmmm, mine is like dougjas' pic. When mounted to the bench, the hollow ram that the primers fall through is already hanging over the edge. Just connect tube or place bucket.

When mounted the ram should be off the edge of the bench. The primers fall through the ram into a tube, bucket or the floor.

My RCBS press has a ram that drops the primers onto the surface of the press into a collecting tray but the Lee turret's drop them down through the ram.

?? Maybe post a picture of your setup. This might help.

The older (non-classic) turret presses do just that, drop the primers under the press. It has to be removed from the bench and the primers removed, or one has to drill a hole in the bench it is mounted on and set up some kind of collection system under it.

The Classic Turret is the only Lee turret that uses the catch tube.

I guess I can cut a hole below it.

The pictures aren't great and I hope you understand what you are seeing.

Yeah, that is the older alluminum turret press. Older as in older design. The classic turret is cast iron and a newer design. As of yet Lee doesn't offer the classic turret in a kit.

Deluxe Turret:

MidwayUSA - Lee 4 Hole Turret Press with Auto Index

Classic Turret:

MidwayUSA - Lee Classic 4 Hole Turret Press

The Deluxe turret doesn't have the ability to use the catch tube that the classic turret uses. The deluxe turret is a prefectly good press, the classic turret just offers some improvements. Of course it also costs more and isn't available as a kit from Lee.

Goofy design. Looks like drilling a hole or using a shop-vac to clean them out is the only solution aside from taking it off the bench.
