In his defense, I would have probably gotten a little upset about having an AR in my face. I think it was about 5 years ago, two FBI agents stopped a car in, or just outside, Washington, D.C. matching the description of one used in a bank robbery. They ran up to the car with AR's drawn. The agent on the passenger side shot the occupant on his side in the face when he reached for his seatbelt.
It was the wrong car. All of this guys other actions look a little shady. Putting myself in the officers shoes.... Its tough. We can critisize all we want after the fact, but being in a situation like that, with stress levels through the roof.... Whew!

I think the lesson here is simply don't be a jackass. The officers seemed reasonable once everything appeared on the level. If you ask me, his whole attitude towards them caused 99.9% of his troubles. Just be polite, courteous, and honest. Over the years, I have gotten out of a number of traffic stops with just a warning by doing the same. The time for complaining is later over a beer with some close friends.
