Hunter Writer Anti-2a- Gun
http://www.huntingandfishingjournal....trace_1003.php
ANOTHER hunter writer anti-2A-GUN, read his words above and other postings. Hunters, therefore, should not become involved in gun control legislation. American gun owners can do much to start on a new path by supporting better background checks, particularly at gun shows. Also, it wouldn’t hurt if gun owners were the champions of stronger state laws to require better gun owner training and greater accountability for responsible firearms ownership. Hunters who share the same views, don't realize that once our government has managed to ban high capacity semi-auto rifles, and handguns, they will then go after their guns too, and we will fall into a state of total chaos. An AR15 with a 30 round mag is no more lethal than a 10 round hunting rifle of the same caliber, if not a bigger caliber. When people lose their right to legally own high cap rifles and handguns, they'll start killing each other with their hunting rifles.

Eh, he wasn't as bad as Zumbo, just rather naive about his hunting weapons being so different.

This guy isn't looking at the antis ultimate goal which is a total ban on guns. Any hunting rifle can be cut dowm and be misused. Those that misuse guns could care less that they are commiting illegal acts. The people who misuse these guns are not the CCW permit holders.

"American gun owners can do much to start on a new path by supporting better background checks, particularly at gun shows."
A licensed gun dealer at gun show must do a background check before selling a gun. If folks are selling large numbers of guns without being licensed why is the BATFE not arresting them? Every gun show has ATF agents in attendance. This is more impassioned hand wringing by the panties in a knot liberal whiners. |

Some of the tables at gunshows are private collections that may be sold wtihout an FFL liscense. Since there is no liscense required, there is no background check...if it is legal in that state to do so. In most states it is not required for a private individual to go through a liscensed dealer to sell a gun as long as the individual that buys the gun is legally qualified to do so.

If hunters don't get with the program and stand alongside CCWers and ALL other gun owners, they will see us lose ours first, and then they'll lose theirs. That's how it'll go, unless we all fight. |

It's amazing that people think the govt will stop once they have our high capacity semi-auto guns. Lets say that this year, next year, or early 2009 our assault weapons are banned, and all high capacity magazines are banned permanently.
Fast forward 15 years. Lets assume at that time it is very hard to find an assault weapon, even illegally on the streets to purchase. (which we know that won't be the case), but lets just assume it for now. The only guns you will have access to are certain hunting shotguns and hunting rifles. Low capacity handguns as well. Well, we all know that in 15 years there will be no shortage of criminals in this country willing to use a gun in their crimes. If they have a hard time getting assault weapons.. what guns do you think they will be using? Most likely hunting rifles and shotguns. Or continue using cheap handguns like they always generally do. Since they got rid of semi-auto high capacity guns years ago, even though they weren't being used in many crimes.. they were simply powerful, and scary looking.. that's all. The powerful hunting weapons we have now, will one day be the weapons blamed on crime... just like our high power high capacity weapons we have now are. Our weapons are the target today, as with any "shooting" sport.. you take out one target, and take aim on your next to destroy. |

Personally, with hunters (not all hunters), should the day ever come that they are after their rifles. I will have nothing else to do but laugh in their face, for their ignorance in the past about MY weapons. They will be whining about how they are for hunting, and how it's their rght!
I personally do not enjoy hunting. I use to hunt when I was younger. I did not get any thrill or excitement taking the life of an animal. So I quit. I now enjoy watching wildlife. But, I will NEVER call for an end to hunting, or call for the hunting rifles to be banned. It would be nice if some hunters would give shooting sports gun owners the same courtesy in return. |
