Officer shoots, foils robbery

An intense manhunt was under way Thursday morning in Fort Worth for a group of suspects who police said attempted to rob an off-duty officer.

The incident was reported around 3:00 a.m. in the Como neighborhood near Pershing Avenue.

Officers believe that the group of suspects first attempted to rob a grocery store, then tried to snatch the female police officer's purse after they had failed.

Police said the suspects fled when the officer opened fire. One suspect was taken into custody, but three are still being sought

Would be a lot easier to locate the suspects if there was a good blood trail to follow. More range time is in order!

I'm always glad to hear stories like this; I only hope the BG's would take it more to heart and fear for their very lives!

I'm glad to hear the off duty officer made it out alive. I'm sure the one BG taken into custody will end up giving up his accomplices.
