ridonkulous, and totally unfeasible. I'll keep an eye on it, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was some kind of straw man thrown up to distract people from HR1022 while it gets shoved through under the table.

Just let them try to find my firearms, I cant just give them away, they must be earned.

But, if they start buying back firearms depending on the price, I could probally make some really pathetic ones to gain some income. Nobody said they had to work did they?

Can we say ''miopic''

Kucinich is currently drafting legislation that would ban the purchase, sale, transfer, or possession of handguns by civilians. A gun buy-back provision will be included in the bill.
The criminals would just LOVE this - but I guess that aspect is overlooked - as usual.

It's all so simple ... ''ban all guns'' and we have Utopia. <bletch>

That's only the half of it. This little blemish on Congress is launching H.R. 808, proposing to create the following offices in the already-bloated, behemoth U.S. government. It's a bill, and it's currently in comittee. The new cabinet Department would be:
  • The Department Of Peace & Nonviolence, a cabinet-level post headed by yet another bureaucrat. This new cost-drain would have the following offices under its expert watch:
    • the Office Of Arms Control & Disarmament;
    • the Office Of Peaceful Coexistence & Nonviolent Conflict Resolution;
    • the Office Of Human Rights & Economic Rights; and
    • the Intergovernmental Advisory Council On Peace & Nonviolence

He forgot to add the Office Of Rose-Colored Glasses, the Office Of Happy Thoughts, the Office Of Joint Mutual Euphoria, and the Office Of Congressional Cleansing & Myopia Improvement. Don't forget the last one. We'll need it, with all that other stuff.

What's with Ohio? Something in the water?

Already this Congress, Kucinich has introduced HR 808 and HR 676—two bills that directly relate to the events of Blacksburg. HR 808, legislation to establish a Department of Peace and Nonviolence, addresses the issue of domestic violence, gang violence, and violence in the schools, which is reflected in the current homicide rates. HR 808 has 62 cosponsors.

“The bill provides hope for a transformation through education of our children in principles of nonviolence and support for existing community groups and professionals whose dedication would be empowered by a national commitment to peace and nonviolence,” Kucinich said.

Ah, a true liberal. Let's create another layer of beauracracy funded by tax dollars.

Why doesn't he just call this the department of fairy tales?

Kuncinich is a just a sad, little man, living in a fantasy. As he learned four years ago, he has no chance of being elected president and he should also know that the type of gun control he advocates, killed his party's candidates in the last two elections.

Maybe when this is all over the Keebler elves will let little dennis back to the magic tree.

Well, the river for the city he represents did catch on fire... twice.

Seriously though, Ohio is pretty evenly divided politically. Most of the rural areas tend to be conservative, and the cities get more left leaning the further north you go (just a generalization, but it does stay pretty true).

I would hereby like to announce my candidacy for the post of Minister Plenipotentiary of the Office of Puppy Kisses and Candy Rainbows.

My primary opponent for this position is Sean Penn, so I really need your backing in this.

Thank you. That is all. You may return to your regularly scheduled mockery.
