I don't have to run away like a little scared guy if a BG breaks in

The NRA is reporting that Governor Hoeven signed the Castle Doctrine.

The law still reads that there is an obligation to try to escape, but it is a change from duty to try to escape, but it does protect the resident from any wrongful death lawsuits if God forbid the resident has to defend the household from a bad guy.

You never did. You'd merely have to defend against the slings and arrows. If justified, it would still be justified.

Kudos on the changes! Benefits to victims and striking down "criminals' rights" is always a good thing.

Gov Granholm did sign. Took effect last october. I think they called it "the Self defense Act." A bundle of new laws that include No duty to retreat, loser pays if you are sued by some dirtbags family and it is found you were justified, and a couple other things I can't recall off te top. Check out the legislation section of: www.mcrgo.org. Also highly reccomend you take a MI ccw class or refresher with updates.

Congrats DakotaRanger, wherever you are.
