Dear Sir,
I hope you vote against this lame attempt at another shot at gun control. When will congress stop their attacks on the 2nd Amendment? I would hope you will try to get the laws tougher on criminals. Lets remember, if you take away the law abiding citizens right to bear arms then all you have is criminals with guns. The FBI just released a five year study on gun violence which states, criminals do not care what laws you pass because they do not abide by them. I am looking foward to your support on this issue. This topic is the most important factor in how I will vote in the months and years to come.

When our Founding Fathers drafted the Constitution, they included the Second Amendment to guarantee people the right to keep and bear arms. This is a fundamental part of our American identity, and I will work with my Senate colleagues to ensure that this liberty is protected for all law-abiding citizens.

On January 5, 2007, Representative Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) introduced the NICS Improvement Act (H.R. 297). This bill would provide grants to states for them to update the NICS to include felons, domestic abusers, and other violent criminals. H.R. 297 was referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, where it awaits further approval. While no similar legislation has been introduced in the Senate, rest assured that I will keep your views in mind as we proceed in the 110th Congress.
