If the Companies don't take a hard stand against this, then the customer can boycott any company that Microstamps. If it looks as if the companies are going to fold, then just start buying up all the used guns you can for spare parts.

As a matter a fact, that last part sounds like a good Idea for now. I need to start shopping for more 1911 type guns.(more then I am now that is)

heres the letter Brady is sending out
SENSIBLE GUN LEGISLATION MOVES FORWARD!
Your Phone Calls Made a Difference

Dear California StoptheNRA Member,

Thanks in part to your phone calls, the Crime Gun Identification Act of 2007 (AB
1471) cleared its first major hurdle in passing the State Assembly by a vote of
44-31. This crime fighting bill that will help law enforcement solve crimes and
reduce gun trafficking is now one step closer to becoming law. Thank you again
for all your help.

The Crime Gun Identification Act would require that starting in 2010, new
semi-automatic handguns be equipped with technology to allow police to match
bullet shells found at a crime scene to the handgun that fired the bullets. This
technology, known as "microstamping" would substantially enhance law
enforcement's ability to rapidly identify and link shell casings found at a crime scene to the
individual semi-automatic handgun from which it was fired.

You can read more about the passage of the Crime Gun Identification Act in a
recent article from the San Francisco Chronicle here:
http://www.bradynetwork.org/site/R?i...9AFNEMWTydbqUA.. We will keep you
posted on the next steps needed to pass this important legislation.

For more information on this legislation or to get involved locally in the gun
violence prevention movement, please contact the California Brady Campaign
Chapters (www.bradycampaign.org/ca).

Thank you for working for safer communities in California!

The Companies Will Do No Such Thing

The Companies Complied With The Lock, then The California Drop Test So I Have No Reason To Believe That They Will Do Anything But Jump Step.

California might as well not even be a state.

Since most guys don't reload a revo at the scene, this would be pointless due to the lack of spent casings.

True, but the antis likely won't realize this nor care.

I think we need electro-heated brands on car bumpers...more hit and runs than unsolved shooting! (Problem is there are more hit and runs by politicians than shootings by politicians as well)

Maybe the dolts at Brady can explain why a criminal who uses a STOLEN gun in a crime is going to care or fear that the police will be able to track him down.

It's obvious that this system would be good only for tracking back to the last LEGAL owner of the gun. What good will it do to know what gun fired a specific cartridge (these morons still like to call them "bullet shells" -- why trust their offerings when it comes to suggested laws when they are not even bright enough to use the correct nomenclature??) if you can't find the guy who has the gun?!

Clearly, this is just another law that's intended to hassle legal gun owners; make guns more expensive to make and buy; in the hopes that they will decimate the gun culture, make having guns vanishingly unpopular.

So, on we fight.

Again, and again, and again. They don't quit. They don't understand.
They only beileve that stripping the law abiding citizen of his guns, and Constituionally guaranteed rights will abate any and all criminal assualt on society. DUH! One must come to the conclusion that those who advocate such legislation are:
1.) Garnering VOTES.
2.) In love, secretly with ROSIE O'DONNELL
3.) Seeking to eliminate private ownership of firearms because an armed society cannot be effectively tyrannized and if they can thrash up the crowd with "guns kill kids" , etc., etc. ad nauseum they will have the housewives and dummies on their side and they will eventually disarm us. Stay committed to the course, do not falter, even if you have personal issues with the NRA, believe that they represent the largest most vocal force for the continuation of our rights to defend ourselves. Don't take it personally. Get involved. We are threatened as never before. Get off your couch and do something NOW. It's good to share information on this forum, but we are preaching to the CHOIR.

Remember this is the state that wanted to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. Here is my solution...give it back to Mexico (THEY ALL LIVE THERE ANYWAY) and annex Canada, we would all be better off.
