The absurd seems possible after all!

I can't believe it - crazy, ridiculous, the cost is probably unimaginable.

OK folks - the day of the revo will be returning.

Calif. Assembly OKs Micro-stamp On Some Guns

San Francisco Chronicle

The California Assembly has passed a bill that would make California the first in the nation to require a mechanism inside semiautomatic pistols to stamp information.

OK, your guess is as good as mine, but how will this help against STOLEN guns?

Or against crime in general for that matter.

John - cannot see one iota of use in this stupid idea. It will be as ineffectual or worse, than the MD ''Ballistic Finger printing".

Costs will be astronomic ......... and yeah - the stolen gun deal too. It has to be pure feelgood for the legislators ... who I daresay think it'll win votes.

That is just nuts. Now you have to collect all of your brass at the range. I can see the stoppage of matching bullets to barrels after a shooting because they have the brass with your serial on it.

I wonder how far the gun companies will go before they stop selling handguns in CA altogether. How far can you push them before they say "just forget it"?

I'd say this is already several nails in the coffin - I mean, who is gonna want to follow that crappola! It'd make reloading pretty awkward too - with fired brass ....... which would then get another stamp - or several.

Tell ya what too - seeing as we are only seeing good guys hit by this - the BG gun market will go entirely into throw-aways and Sat night specials . and after those are used, what BG is gonna worry about any stamping

What a joke.

Since they passed it, The best thing that all Manufactures of firearms could do is right now stop all sales of all firearms in California right now. Just Boycott the state. This would mean all Police and Military sales as well. They want no guns then make it so, Cali. would lose big. They need to be told Stop the BS or else. It needs to be done by the companies because they have clout.

What a joke.

Agreed!

I have to wonder though... what are the CA residents doing about this. Are they aware that their rights are being sold down the river? Do they realize that they are slowly being tracked and disarmed?

How about some input from some of our CA members? I would like to hear what they think about all of this.

Sounds dumb enough to me that the intent may be to stop semi's from being sold there at all. Aren't there enough statistics to show that law abiding gun owners aren't the problem?
