I have not seen any signs posted at Best Buy stores here in CO.

A few years ago, a couple with newly aquired carry permits were made at a local Best Buy and were asked to leave. At the time, the store was not posted. To this day, the store is still not posted.

I enjoy browsing that same store while armed, out of principle. However, I will not buy from that electronics chain. Anyone who is against the right to keep and bear arms does not get my support or my money.

I'm with triggertime - any store dumb enough to want to post signs loses my business - and as many of my fellow shooter's too once I get the word spread.

I would also write a strong letter to the big white chief about it.

That said - in PA it is not a problem but if anyone tries it on - well, bring it on!

I'm not really a big believer in boycotts as a useful means of persuasion, but even at that Best Buy has lots of competition. There's no reason you have to shop there if you don't enjoy the experience as much as shopping somewhere else.

Euc - true, sometimes it is not that effective but - and wish I could find the link - last year on THR we had a huge thread running - IIRC it was to do with an Applebees policy - somewhere, but need to check.

Long and short was - they got bombarded with letters and emails from the huge numbers who saw and followed the thread and - in the end recanted.

I must check the facts if I can - and better still find you the link - it was a great example of ''influence''.

Time for everyone to go into the Best Buy stores and leave them one of these instead of your money....

Boycotts can work.

Home Depot did the same thing in Ohio last year. They received a flood of complaints and promises of boycott, including from me. I live in Texas, but I had no doubt that if we let them get away with it in Ohio, they would do it in my state also.

Home Depot quickly reversed their decision and took down the signs in Ohio.

During the short boycott period (about 1-2 weeks) Lowe’s got about $100 from me that would have usually gone to Home Depot.

I just called Best Buy. They confirmed that the policy is in affect in Ohio. She also said that the policy would probably go into affect in all other states. She than told me that “there is no reason for anybody to be carrying a gun in the stores”. I asked her if there has ever been a crime committed in a Best Buy or Best Buy parking lot. She claimed there has never been one committed in a Best Buy Store (I find that very hard to believe). She admitted that there had been crimes committed in the parking lot and could not answer my question about how a person was suppose to defend themselves walking from their car to the store.

She was in a hurry to get me off the phone. I went into the licensing and training a CHL holder receives. I also told her she needs to educate herself before she makes blanket statements like she did. I said more before she rushed me off the phone, but I‘m too angry to type any more right now. It ended on me informing her that I would not be back.
