Too late as of now; the poll is gone. From all of your reports, it sounds like the paper did not get the results it wanted. Good!

It's gone, whether on a schedule or due to not reporting what the sponsors of the poll had hoped.

The main cause locally is bloody, gang-related activity
Well , there's the problem right there . Perhaps fixing the actual problem would go a long way in making it safer for both police and citizens .

If an assault weapons ban saves the life of just one officer next year, it's worth it
Officers have been run down by cars , knived , beaten , etc . So what is the proposition for those instances where "one life" of an officer was taken by those means? Murder is illegal , regardless of the implement used .
