Article on Students for Concealed Carry

This article describes the group, but also contains the obligatory confusion and misstatements we've come to expect, such as

Candace Soya, a 20-year-old student at TSU-San Marcos, said she fears chaotic shootouts. If someone decided to open fire on the tree-lined quad in the middle of her campus, armed students would likely make matters worse, she said.

"It's not a situation where you can fight fire with fire," Soya said.

thats too bad, i believe armed students can make a differerance.
as far as school shootings goes, its not if but when. we all know
gun free zones are red carpets for the few sick and twisted bgs.

I'm curious what kind of situation it is then?? Maybe we should just stick our heads in the sand while we let our children and loved ones die! This is the type of ignorance that media loves to show as a definitive answer to nothing.

Does this mean that Soya would NOT want to call the cops either? It would just mean more guns...right?

Stay armed...stay safe!

More guns...safer!

I wonder what she would consider "better?"--"Beam me up, Scotty?" Oh, yeah, that'll work....

Even though the article is replete with the obligatory BS from the likes of "Soya," it is, at least, getting some serious attention. Front page of yahoo.com as of a few minutes ago = lots of readers. Maybe, just maybe, someone (or a few someones) will see the light...

In this case, you can fight fire with fire, or die. I vote for fire.

I know that I'm not allowed to have a squirt gun on campus, and I'm pretty sure that my bottle of water won't do much good against a gun.

This is why we're advocating for concealed carry on campus. If you know of any college students, please, bug them about us. If you know any friends/family who know any college students, please bug them about us.

The AP article is a double edged sword : the traffic it's generating is immense. I'm over an average of 2 dozen emails per hour at the moment. It's also putting a huge workload on existing members, and we need more active people to help fill the roles and help lend a hand.

The more support the better. Thanks!!!
