Yes after the Dem's told us they learned their lesson on gun control laws in the last last election, it did not take them long, about 2 months, to start back to their old ways on gun control again.
How quickly they AND we forget...... ![]()

On one level, the answer is easy, and it's the answer to many other quesitons:
BUY MORE GUNS (and ammo)..... On a deeper level, it's a good question and a troubling one. There is no answer to it, really. We'll just have to wait and see just exactly what a bad decision says. And, as others have already (rightly) pointed out, voting for pro-gun candidates would become even more important than it already is.

Regretably, I think the court will not rule for an individual's right to own and bear arms. They would not have taken the case if they wanted to leave things the way the DC Appeals court left it. They could then sit back and see if other courts rule similarly in other districts--and only take an appeal if there is substantial disagreement among the appeals courts. (THe usual practice.)
Yes Alito is a conservative; but he is from New Jersey. I don't think Roberts, Kennedy, or any of the others are going to be reliably 2A either. Not even Thomas. Only Scalia will. The Supreme court has a habit of defering to the wishes of legislatures when possible, and they will find a way to do so in this case too. And keep in mind that they are a "law and order" court which routinely gives "the state" somewhat greater powers than the state should have. What I think you will see is a ruling that makes the "right to bear arms" a collective rather than an individual right, and leaves to the individual states and Congress the right to legislate on the isssue--which does not necessarily mean that there will be immediate registration, confiscation, or widespread denial of permits. Rather, the status quo will be retained. |

If they rule against.......
The states that are currently anti-gun, will be EVEN MORE ANTI! (Illinios, Md, Mass....etc...) The pro-gun states will hopefully stay the same. Most of those have individual rights protected in their respective state Constitutions. It would be a win for the anti's, but not a total lose for our side. I am really surprised by the anti's interpretation of the 2A. Just because of their inner fear of the individual..... & their love of more government.....They have taken a very clear sentence & perverted it: Quote:
"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the MILITIA to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." ..........It says PEOPLE!, just as in all the other Amendments that refer to "the People", all of which refer to INDIVIDUALS. The left in this country has done a good job in bastardizing the Bill of Rights at every opportunity they get. Just look at the term "Separation of Church & State". That term is NOT found in the Constitution, but the left brings it up all the time. They continue to attack Christmas displays, the Ten Commandments, school prayer....etc....Look at the part in the First Amendment I bolded below......Every time they have been successful at limiting someone from expressing their religious views, by banning Christmas Trees or prayer....etc.., they are going AGAINST the very words in the Amendment!...Yet they continue to get away with it.... Quote:
No matter which way SCOTUS goes on this, the fight will continue, the losing side won't give up & things will remain pretty much as they are today. If we win, the anti's won't give up & if they win...we won't give up.....So the struggle will continue. Also keep in mind that SCOTUS could come down with a 'Solomon' decision that upholds the individual right, BUT that allows DC & the states to enact whatever restrictions they desire...ala...States Rights....a decision that would in essence accomplish nothing. (This is what I think will be the probable outcome.)

Hello everyone. Newbie here.
I read this past summer that city officials in Philadelphia were calling upon ordinary citizens to form large groups and patrol city streets in some neighborhoods. I'm guessing this would be in a vigilante-style mode. Anyway, I really don't feel the gun issue will be an issue for too many more years. I feel regardless of what anti's try to do in the near future, the attacks on US soil by terrorists that I would bet money are going to begin occurring in this same near future will override almost all anti-gun sentiments and those shoutings as people realize we all need to be armed to combat the threats. I honestly feel the future of the US will revert to mostly pro 2nd Amendment, in both government and private thinking. |

I'm not going to worry about something beyond my immediate control. Planning for the future is important...your own stash, so to speak...
I do, however, find it hard to believe that the Supreme Court, as it is now balanced, will find anything other than in favor of the 'individual'...lots has already been written on the potential decisions, and I believe we will survive unscathed...OMO As others have already said...either way, the battle will continue!

Gun Sale
Prices will rise short term until the uniform knocks on the doors to collect and ammunition becomes illegal, time to sell all in June based on SCOTUS decision and vote for only democrats to insure our personal safety by the government.
