IMHO, this is the most dangerous agency we have in existence today. Our government as a whole is becoming more and more corrupt. But the BATFE is absolutely out of control. If we all stand by and do nothing, this will be our future and in full public view and with surprisingly little or no opposition.
The BATFE has been testing the waters of public opinion/reaction to its authority (real or imagined) for decades. And we, the armed citizens, are like the frog in boiling water. We need to 'get out of the pot' and get the word out (not just here amongst the safety of our peers) that we as free citizens WILL NOT stand for the infringement of our rights by a bloated dictatorial government bent on suppressing the people. Please contact your reps in congress. Vote based on the most important freedom we have (the one that secures all the others). Stay informed - this blog is a great, great resource. And be active in your local communities - a thousand local communities voicing their freedom is a lot stronger than a lobbying group with a list of email signatures. Thanks for letting me vent but this issue really chaps my hide and then some ( ) !

I find this very disturbing, but did you know that if you own an AR 15 or AK clone and you possess all the parts to make it full auto even if they are not installed in the weapon the ATF considers you to have a full auto firearm,I know some people install the heavier M16 bolt carrier for competition which is legal but I personally would stick with AR15 parts. There was a kid had an AR15 that jammed so he started swapping out parts trying to get the gun to fire semi reliably, the gun went full auto and was confiscated and had enough M16 parts by the time the ATF did their magic with soft primers and IIRC some tape they got the weapon to fire more than once with a trigger pull, the kid was convicted of possessing an automatic weapon.I actually had a guy at the gun range asked me if I would convert his AR15 for him and I said not only are you guilty of conspiracy to possess an illegal weapon but the answer is NO and if you get caught with one it's 10 years and $100,000 fine.

I agree to make an AR15 selective fire requires a lot more than an m16 selector switch and as far as filing down a bolt i have no idea what he's talking about. But to somebody that doesn't know anything about guns when you have an "expert" talking about all these modifications it sounds like there was an attempt to convert the weapon
