Ya know.... I'd love to do this. But my school is already out by then. Thats the run-up week to finals and we dont have class. lol

I've got an extra Uncle Mikes holster if someone wants it to wear for the protest..?

Of course, if we get this little law passed here in AZ, we WILL be armed. haha

Just reminding everybody about this - today's our second one, and from what members are telling me we got a fair amount of media time.

Things are going very smoothly except for one campus who is bringing in FIRE and the ACLU and will likely file a lawsuit, but I can't comment any further than that at the moment. Still, all but 1/(600+) campuses having a smooth start is a nice thing to hear!

I've been wearing mine for two days. So far only a few have noticed. No one's harrassing me though.

It's not necessarily a bad thing - if people aren't noticing an exposed holster, they're not going to be able to notice a concealed firearm.

Finals week. I would more than likely be crucified for even trying to participate. Coming into the home stretch with college and its a small campus - as well I will need an unshakable recommendation from my department head when I apply for jobs.

Next year/semester, think we can do it earlier?

We unfortunately were crunched with the VT anniversary, prep time, and spring breaks - we went with the week that had the least number of colleges out of session, during the spring so jackets wouldn't be covering any holsters.

We're not sure if/when we'll be doing another one.

I carried empty on Tuesday. That's all I have this week (rest online).

Gun control can be blamed in part for allowing 9/11 to happen.

Some media coverage here at my campus. There was an article in the paper and some idiodic tv/radio newscaster chick was saying how crazy the idea is.

Most coverage has been negative, but when you listen to the people talk, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize how irrational they are.

For instance, the aforementioned local tv news lady was on the radio talking about it when she said, "I don't think it should be allowed at all. Allowing guns on campus creates a huge risk. All it would take is for one person to go crazy and then look what happens, like at Va. Tech."

Rant:

Obviously she doesn't realize that, because it only takes one person going crazy to cause such a tragedy, we need people who are not crazy to have guns to defend themselves. She doesn't get that when some crazy person decides to shoot people, they don't pay attention to the "gun free zone" policy in the first place.

Idiocy really drives me up a wall.

Rant Off!

A lawsuit? Over empty holsters? Am I interpereting your post correctly?
If that's the case I believe a slam dunk legal victory for the good guys.
