The point is you are giving up ( They are taking)the ability to protect yourself! If your in N.O. who cares what happens halfway across the country! When it gets dark you still have to protect the ones you love to the best of your ability! In the opening video they gang tackled a 70 year old woman, to take her .38, oh yea they were told to. Could you see here running the streets mugging people? What is a RIGHT? What is a privilege? How far will you bend on a belief?

Agreed.

The minute you bend on that right, you find yourself living in England... Are, as a country, about to come full circle?

taking my guns is basically saying here you go you are no longer allowed to defend yourself have a nice day.

you want my guns come get them is how i look at it. call it dumb, call it irresponsible but i will not give them without a fight. Especially in my own home. this is my last line of defence.
i will defend my home against anybody and everybody. i do not worry about family because its just me. if i had kids i would have to rethink the situation. family would come first. stashing my weapons would be high priority. you still have to protect them later down the road.

Exactly...I'm all for standing up for what's right, but much worse could happen to my family if I'm gone altogether. Stash the guns, sort out the rest later.

only thing i could do is hope it is joe then make an on the spot correction remind him that he is executeing an illegal order that his oath bars him from even attempting to obey. if its a cop not much i can do but reluctantly hand over what i have.

Exactly, I don't have kid's! We all know how well the no gun zone work's. feeding grounds for predators, this country was built on the fact that we have rights, god given rights! If your $30,000 a year job is worth taking my rights you will have to take them!!!I have nothing for the cops in N.O. and all those that helped in disarming law abiding people! They left them as prey!! You have to stand for something, I choose the 2A. That's just me!

All human beings have a fundamental, absolute right to self-defense. There is nothing more fundamental than this, and it is the right upon which all others exist. No person or entity has the right to take away the most effective means I have available to me to defend myself. Many have the power, but none have the right. To limit, or eliminate my means of self-defense effectively makes me a vassal to whomever holds power at any given moment, as I would no longer have any way to exercise any of my rights at all. This is a situation which will never be acceptable to me - I will not be giving up my weapons, period. Infer what you will from that statement...

It should be noted that I have a wife & a dog, but no kids. Everyone I care about can take care of themselves should I no longer be around, so I am able to stand on my principle without fear of catastrophic consequences to those around me.

Maybe I should have made this a poll. It's a tough decision. The only reason I own guns is in case I need them, and I can't think of a time when I might need my guns more than during a civil uprising, or a environmental disaster. It would be very difficult indeed for me to give up my last line of defense. Hopefully, I could talk my way out of it...if not, well, I might ask if they will kindly leave an armed soldier or police officer at my door. If they are going to remove my ability to protect myself, I hope I could hold them to the duty(that they are assuming) in protecting me.

I think it's tough if your at home. in a boat staring down 4 AR's makes it an easy choice! It would be wrong but you wouldn't have a chance! Defending your home would be diff. I don't know that anyone made them choose, obey or suffer! They want to go home to! God I hope my(our) country, state, county, city ever comes down to this!! This is what makes us americans...
