Since Justice Scalia has delivered some rather scathing rebukes to the dissenters, I call this...

Hello People! Duh!

God sent John Moses Browning to save the free world, so I'm pretty sure he would have ole John build him a custom 1911 since they are now neighbors.

D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty said the current in-home gun ban law will stand for 21 days until his administration creates emergency laws to comply with the court's ruling. But he said he does it reluctantly.

So a SCOTUS decision constitutes an emergency? Hahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

Yes it is good news. But we must still be vigilant and keep after those that would take away our RKBA. Do not think it is over, the war is still not won. I would bet the left wingers are right now trying to figure out ways, to circumvent this. So we must still watch and defeat any affort that they come up with.

Found this little tidbit:

In Title 22 of the DC Code there's a prohibition against machine guns
Quote:
>>§ 22-4514. Possession of certain dangerous weapons prohibited; exceptions.
(a) No person shall within the District of Columbia possess any machine gun, sawed-off shotgun, or any instrument or weapon of the kind commonly known as a blackjack, slingshot, sand club, sandbag, switchblade knife, or metal knuckles,...
and the goofy people there have defined 'machine gun' as
Quote:
>>§ 22-4501. Definitions.
(c) "Machine gun," as used in this chapter, means any firearm which shoots automatically or semiautomatically more than 12 shots without reloading.

So looks like semiautos with 10 round magazines would be OK...

Dan Abrams was going "livid" tonight on MSNBC about "how stupid are they" ... referring to the Supreme Court. Also saying.... the "blood in the streets" that would occur, this was the "most irresponsible thing the Supreme Court could have done", and blah blah blah. Hate to tell him, America was formed by men who fought Britain... with guns ...

He said.... need stronger and tighter gun control laws immediatley to save us from ourselves. And, I think that's the spin you will see from them.

However, I liked one response from one of the people on the "panel". Abrams' said .. besides it was stupid to believe that armed citizens could ever rebel and win against the US Military if that were to happen. The guy on the panel said.... "would you tell the insurgency in Iraq that, they have done a pretty good job of raging a war with common everyday people and guns, and what makes you think the US Military would be willing to fight against it's own citizens".

Dan Abrams... was .. "uh.. well... uh... I don't have an answer for that".

Jeanine ????? , a former female Judge on Fox News..... said... "of course it was right, I have 3 guns myself and carry them...... the problem is illegal guns, not about legal guns in the hands of responsible citizens". Hooray for her.

Don't fret about the "in the home". This is a wedge in the door. NRA and others will now band together and sue Chicago and get the 2nd incorporated against the states via the 14th amendment. Once the bans fall crime will fall. Only the true ideologs will still hold out at that point. Then we can get other restrictions lifted. This is the one hill that the NRA was terified to fight for. Now it's taken.

I call it now. For the rest of our lives we will watch all the incrimental gun control role back. Maybe even the gun control act of 1934, if we live that long. The long (70 years +) dark night of assaults on the 2nd is over and we are living in a new dawn of freedom.

If tomorow I find I was overly optomistic, well...At least today I bask in victory. Now the victory lap-Jay

I predict that this is exactly how it'll go, for years to come. Now that the placement of the comma has been duly deliberated and more or less understood, it comes down to twiddling over the definition of "reasonableness."

5 to 4 isn't a resounding win, though it is the statement of the final arbiter of the land. So. Where does that leave us? Died-in-the-wool anti's digging in their heels over their "reasonable" infringements on the 2A, and parties buoyed by the 5:4 Heller ruling who will be going after such unreasonableness.

Amazingly, none of this affects carry, nor having a gun outside the four walls of one's home, or taking it with you on a camping trip, or in your vehicle, or transporting it to the FedEx facility for shipment to your gunsmith, or ... It's going to be awhile before the anti's lower their swords, in this regard.

Still, a great day for sanity and reasonableness. I just wish it had been a 9:0 decision one way or the other. Sadly, there is no attempt, anymore, toward unanimity on the Court.

Four idiots on the SC.

That was close.

Great job, Justice Scalia and those who voted with him.
