very interesting... I think Scalia is a smart smart guy. He nailed a lot of good points right on their heads. I am going to have to read through the discussion again and pick them out.

I like Mr. Heller too.

Agreed. I think the audio transcript should be put up for public download, and every member here should make some time to listen to it.

Just as soon as it is up, I plan on listening to the whole thing. Could not hear it at work.

I've read in a couple of places that the Court has the intent of publishing the transcript very quickly, even by end of today. We'll see.

My only disappointment is I think they gave way too much on the licensing and so called "reasonable" regulation. And also every time Machine guns was mentioned they referred to them as "already banned" which is not really the case. Restricted certainly but not banned. And some would argue that they are unreasonably restricted. However, a lot of this in Briefs so I am sure that the point was made clearly there and will be taken up at some point.

I did not hear the entire thing, but from what I did hear this could be a very bad day for the anti-gunners.

I agree! Although I would pay good money to observe the justices in the backroom when they vote and assign the opinions!

They DID talk about it, but It almost appeared they were talking about "reasonable" as if it wasn't in the Constitution. As in saying it says "shall not be infringed" not "shall not be reasonably infringed." That's what I pulled from the discussion, anyway.
