Kansas Allows Sale of CL III Weapons to Civilians!!!

Absolutely outstanding news!!!! Got this from the NRA-ILA today via email:

Kansas Governor Signs Two Pro-Gun Bills into Law!

Please Thank the Governor Today -- this is really ironic as she vetoed the last two bills regarding concealed carry that came before her for signature and was soundly over-ridden.

Quote:
Today, Monday, April 21, Governor Kathleen Sebelius (D) signed two important pro-gun bills into law.

The first, House Bill 2280, will protect law-abiding gun owners’ right to bear arms, and would prevent the confiscation of firearms during a state of emergency, such as occurred following Hurricane Katrina and after the tornado devastation in Greensburg.

Also signed was Senate Bill 46, legislation that will allow Kansas firearm retailers, manufacturers, importers and citizens qualified under the National Firearms Act to sell, manufacture, import and own NFA firearms.

Special thanks to State Representatives Candy Ruff (D-40), Richard Carlson (R-61), Dennis McKinney (D-116), Mike Burgess (R-51), Arlen Siegfreid (R-15), Majority Leader Ray Merrick (R-27), State Senators Phil Journey (R-26), Terry Bruce (R-34), and Dennis Wilson (R-37) for their individual efforts to get these important bills enacted.

Please contact the Governor TODAY and thank her for signing HB2280 and SB46. Governor Sebelius can be reached by phone at 1-877-579-6757 or locally at 785-296-3232. You can also email her by clicking here.

No, thank goodness...she's about as anti-2a as one can get. She is a die-hard supporter of Obama and is wrangling for either a cabinet position or the VP slot should he get the nomination.

I think the NRA's "thank the Governor" quip is quite ironic. She vetoed the last two bills involving concealed carry and was decisively over-ridden.

She had to either veto or sign...Kansas has no pocket veto, from the day the bill hit her desk, she had 10 days to act. If she did nothing, it woudl became law without her signature.

It's amazing, 2 yrs ago, we didn't really have a hope of all of this coming to pass. Now, we've had concealed carry for a little over a year, and now this!!! What a country!

Yes, in addition to suppressors and SBS. SBR and DD have always been legal. I believe "machine guns" have been outlawed since the 30's so this is great news. Now I just need to decide if I want to put a can on my AR or 16" FAL. I think the FAL.

Yes, the governess is a real...well I won't say it here. She signed it because it had a solid veto-proof majority, more-so than even the CCW bills that she vetoed.
