I guess this should fit here OK. Hope so.
'fedlaw'' over on THR posted this - I think it is worth a read. Best pro stuff I have seen in a while and note - yep - ''Chicago Tribune''!!!! Quote:

Interestingly enough, Ben Affleck stated in last week's HBO's Real Time With Bill Maher, that he approved of this legislation. He was very well spoken and intelligent when Bill Maher, in typical fashion, started with his jokes and inquiries of the panel regarding the FL law.
I darned near fell off my chair in shock over his defense of the FL law and criticism of the Brady Campaign for being alarmists.

It still amazes me that states like Maryland and New Jersey look at places like Florida and just totally ignore the facts and the logic.

Great post! From the 'Trib' of all places. How can you give "too much protection to victims of violent crime?" Seems the author of that piece still has one leg over the fence even though he's got the Brady Bunch nailed.

Happy in FL
We here in FL are quite happy with our guns & our expanded rights.
CCW permits are [as they should be everywhere in the USA] easy to obtain, as long as you are a law-abiding citizen. I heard a [martial ats] saying once, "Only a fool or a great master goes into the mountains without weapons." ('cuz mountians are where the bandits hung out; here in FL it's the woods, and no, I never go into the woods without one) Would that more states would wake up and let their [honest] citizens enjoy their basic right of armed self defense. ![]()
