John McCain Stance on Assault Rifles
I was on the phone watching opening ceremony on NRA website but I swear I just heard John McCain at the NRA Annual Meeting say. So tell me If I heard this correctly? He opposses any ban on Assault Rifles because he did say that banning a guns based on features is not right and he opposses it. Did I miss hear that?
However, I did hear him say he is in favor of backround checks at gun shows; however, he doesn't support a ban on private transfers between family members. Hummmm..

I honestly think it's possible for a politician to be against gun bans but for registration. It's not all for or all against...
Heck, this is a LOT better than Obama's firearm stance. |

His support for sales between private citizens and support for "closing the gun show loophole" indicate that he has no idea, at all, about how gun laws work. That's not encouraging.

He's much better than all of the other candidates except Ron Paul. He's even electable.
I tend to believe he is a guy who would publicly be in the middle regarding gun laws, but he would not actively try to change them. Then the question is would he sign a restrictive bill brought in front of him. The Senate and House races are going to be extremely important. If bills don't get to the President then things can't get worse.

Pit, we have plenty of politicians between where we are now and a total ban.
We need some between where we are now and blanket repeal. (She is easy on the eyes.) |
