They also wear those berets. The book "On Killing" went into the reason they wear berets instead of helmets. The reason given was that people are less apt to shoot at someone wearing a beret than a combat helmet.

The Global Poverty Act is horrendous legislation. Franklu, I don't care if some people make $1/day. Not to sound cold hearted but that is not our problem. It is not a security issue. It is not an economic issue. The United States has no business forcing its citizens to give handouts to our own people, no less foreigners. If people in other countries want to enjoy the wealth of the poeple of America let them earn it themselves.

If the world's poor wants to better themselves there are many avenues, not the least of which is to control their own destiny in their own countries. If private individuals want to donate to others, I wholeheartedly applaud their effort. But the Global Poverty Act is an abomination.

I agree. This has nothing to do with the Second Amendment. I am astounded the number of people who think the Second is a green light to revolution when it is exactly the opposite. It is there so armed citizens can put down rebellions, not start them.
