Virginia Railway Express now supports 2A...

...at least on trains that don't enter DC.

washingtonpost.com

"Virginia Railway Express riders will be able to carry firearms aboard trains operating in Virginia because of a policy adopted by the commuter rail service's operations board. During a meeting Friday, board members changed the transit agency's policy to match Virginia code, which allows people without a criminal record to carry weapons in plain view and those with a permit to carry concealed weapons."

Wow, that is great news.

There is only one gun law in this country, the 2nd Amendment. All else is bureaucratic nonsense that I choose to comply with or not at my discretion.

When governments make laws, they must consider the unintended consequences.

Tremendous news! It'll be about as non-eventful as it is here in Portland, Oregon, I am assuming. Very rarely is there an event involving a CHL holder, here. Almost every time it does, it's involving TriMet/MAX harassment of upstanding people carrying per state law. Lesson: upstanding CHL carriers are not the problem.

Congrats, Virginia citizens!

Virginia is slowly becoming a pro 2A state. This is just another step up for us.

The VRE runs in Northern Va. Where there are a lot of anti gunners. I'm sure if someone OC's on the train, there will be a real uproar.

Granted, it'll probably take 100 of these idiots being slapped down by VCDL and the local constabulary before they'll accept it's perfectly legal. Just so long as carriers keep their cool, it'll work out, in time. Good luck, y'all.

I used to ride the VRE to work every day when I lived in NoVa and worked in Crystal City. I'm very happy to hear they're respecting the rights of passengers.
