Letter to Corzine

I read this today on the NRA website:

NRA-ILA :: Usual Suspects Attack Wicker Amendment

It prompted my to send a letter to Corzine. I realize he never will see it, but it made me feel better.

Governor,
Being a resident of NJ I am embarrassed by the letter you sent to Washington concerning transporting firearms on Amtrak. You like so many other politicians choose not to look at the entire picture, but rather a small narrow-minded section as if for no better reason then to hear yourself talk.

Let’s take a broader look at this topic, I will use travel from NJ to FL as an example. I can legally transport a firearm between these destinations under federal guidelines in my vehicle. I can legally transport the same firearms under TSA regulations on a commercial or private airline. Why should I not be able to transport the same firearms on Amtrak?

Incase you have never been on am Amtrak train the luggage compartments are not accessible from onboard the train. This means there is no possibility of me criminally getting a hold of a weapon that is in my luggage, nor anyone else. There is no reason except for the blatant disrespect of the 2nd amendment for you attempting to stand in the way of this legislation.

I find it hypocritical when politicians do not back the 2nd amendment. Not only are you sworn in to uphold the constitution, you are constantly surrounded by armed law enforcement officers. I take it your life is more important to your family then mine is to my family.

These are just a few of the reasons you will not be getting my vote for re-election.

I think you're right. He will never see it.

I know it makes you feel better sometimes to write your elected officials. But for me the letdown comes when I get a cheesy form letter as a reply.

Bingo! Well said...but he won't care, even if (chances 1-1,000,000) he does read it.

I have to agree he will never see it unless he gets flooded with like e-mails.

You can't even send it to an email address, you post it via a website.

Don't be surprised if you start seeing mafia types hanging around your neighborhood.

With all of Corzine's laws the mafia can not be armed, guess I'm safe.

Does Corzine come up for election in November like our VA Governor does?
If so, VOTE him OUT.
