Rehburg and the SATF

Rehberg Selected for Second Amendment Task Force

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, has joined the bipartisan Second Amendment Task Force (SATF). Members of this group act as a unified and proactive force to promote legislation that protects the Second Amendment and to fight legislation that poses a threat to citizens’ Constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

“Now, more than ever before, it will be necessary to maintain a vigilant eye against real efforts to disarm the American people,” said Rehberg, a member of the House Appropriations Committee and the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus. “Montanans sent me to Washington, D.C. to represent them. And as their Representative, I have been a vocal supporter of Second Amendment rights. That track record is why I have been asked to join this small group of Members who share a passion for the preservation of freedom.”

An invitation to join the SATF is only granted after a thorough review of a Representative’s voting record on Second Amendment issues and an examination of their working relationship with gun rights’ groups such as the National Rifle Association and Gun Owners of America. Rehberg was selected to join this core group of House Members who are “true believers” in the Constitutional right for American’s to bear arms.

“I welcome Congressman Rehberg as a new member to the Second Amendment Task Force,” said Congressman Dan Boren (D-OK-02), the Democratic Co-Chairman of the Task Force. “He has an outstanding record on supporting the Second Amendment in the House of Representatives. He is a voice of reason and common sense on issues that are important to law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen alike. As the Democratic co-chairman of the House Second Amendment Task Force, I look forward to working with Congressman Rehberg and the other members of the task force to protect the constitutional right for all Americans to keep and bear arms.”

“Rep. Rehberg’s commitment to protecting the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding firearms owners and sportsmen has been exemplary during his career in Congress,” said Congressman Paul Broun (R-GA-10), the Republican Co-Chairman of the Task Force. “We are proud to welcome him as a member of the Second Amendment Task Force (SATF).”
