    Southern Holsters Gun Belt

Has anyone ever tried one? Are they a nice belt?

    Martlet,

You might not find many reviews of my belts as I have not sold many since I started making them. But since you are looking high and low for a gun belt for the past few days, I'll send you one for your personal review before you buy.

    Let me know:

    1. Your measurement in inches from buckle post to hole used when carring concealed inside the waistband.

    2. Color (same as your holster order? Cordovan)

    3. Width (same as your holster order? 1.5")

If it meets your requirements, you can pay me for it. If not, you can send it back and not be out anything. I'll send it with your holster.

You can email me with your answer or reply here.

Have I been that much of a pain in the butt lately? Now I'm slightly embarrassed. I don't know squat about gun belts and I've only used CrossBreed Holsters. I decided it was time to try something new, so I probably asked too many questions. At the same time, I can't afford to shell out the 100+ bucks many of the holster/belt makers charge. Unless, of course, Congress decides to radically increase the Army pay scale.

That being said, you've made an offer I can't refuse. My current belt size while carrying IWB is 40". That's measuring from the tip of the post to the hole used. Beyond that, this belt is for specific use with your holster, so cordovan and 1.5" is good.

Tom, that was a admirable gesture and a great way to do business.
I haven't looked at your products before but certainly will now.

Edit: Where is the gun list on your website? Do you make an OWB for the XD SC?

Please post the review and let us know how the belt works out for you.

I am currently looking for a new belt as well and would like to hear your opinions.

    Well done Tom.

The gun list is on each holster page as one of the Options that need to be included with your order. I don't have the XD SC listed as I have not ordered a dummy gun for it yet. If you would like a holster for the XD SC, you can place your order and list that pistol. I will order the dummy gun at that time.

It'll take me 1-2 weeks to receive it but you do not lose your place in line and will still get your holster within the 4 week timeframe (unless the dummy takes longer which has happened once so far.)

I missed the shipment yesterday, so I picked up the belt/holster first thing this morning at the Post Office. Since I was off duty today, I immediately put it on and wore it all day.

Granted, I have no experience with a gun belt, but I have plenty with holsters. In short, all I can say is "wow".

First the look. There isn't a blemish on it. The color and finish are perfect. The quality is excellent. It's dressy enough to wear every day, even if you aren't carrying. What a pretty belt.

So then I put it on. I tried it with my CrossBreed and Sig P220 first. I love that holster, and the belt made it more comfortable than it's ever been. No sag. Kept snug. It made a great holster that much better. I can't believe I've been carrying without this belt for so many years.

Just by picking up the holster, I could tell it was going to be a dream. The holster was sturdy, and my S&W fit like a glove. I had a little trouble getting the snaps seated well at first. The fit is so good it needs to break in a little. I swapped out my CB and Sig for the SH and 5" S&W. I wore it for the next 9 hours. Honestly, after taking it off tonight I had a hard time believing I'd worn it all day. The belt supported the weight incredibly well, and the holster held the butt in close. I also learned one of the added benefits of a sturdy holster on a supportive belt was the ability to easily adjust the position inconspicuously while it's on.

In short, a great holster, a great belt, and a great price. The great shipping time and incredible customer service is just icing on the cake.
