Bluegrass Holsters FAQ
Holster styles offered and prices:
Standard dual slot OWB pancake design $55.00 Standard dual loop (fore and aft) IWB $65.00 (coming soon) All leather Combo IWB/OWB $75.00 (coming soon...betcha can't wait for this item )OWB Belt slides $45 (available for most models, but designed specifically for "families" such as 1911, M&P, XD, and some Sigs) Pocket Holsters $30 (available rough or smooth side out) Shipping and Handling charge is $8. One s/h charge per three holster order (e.g. 1-3 holsters=$8, 4-7 holsters =$16, etc). All holsters are shipped via insured priority mail unless customer requests faster shipping. Turnaround Times and Payment Policy Currently turnaround is only about two weeks from order to delivery. In most cases this is less. Unless otherwise stated to the customer in advance, all orders will be charged just prior to beginning the customer's order. This has been the hold up with the web site as I have insisted that the shopping cart NOT charge the customer at the time of their order. Typically the idea is that the customer will be notified a day or two in advance of their scheduled holster build...in that email they will be offered the chance to 1) cancel their order with a returned email; 2) to change any options (firearm model, color, style, etc); 3) do nothing and keep the order as previously submitted at which time the order will be charged within 24-48 hours after submission of the email. Each customer will be given an order number....y'all have to help me on this one as I will likely forget to give you your number. I will post on my website the order numbers being made for the current week. If you see your order number listed then you will know that you have only 7-10 days for it's arrival. How do we do it? I am a little different than most guys I bet....I decide how many holsters I can make in the week and start all those orders on Monday. By Friday of that week all of those holsters will be completed with mailing to occur that day or Saturday. Some issues will possible add a day or two for holsters to leave the shop. These conditions typically would revolve around drying times. By working in this manner I can more accurately state a delivery time to the customer. Thus, the customer will be sent an email on Friday regarding their pending order. Unless the customer opts to cancel their order, the customer's card will be charged sometime Saturday night or Sunday. Work will start the following Monday. With shipping on Saturday via Priority Mail (most often, although some mailings will occur on Friday) the holsters should arrive early the following week. Leather Quality We currently use only the highest quality leathers possible. One of my suppliers provides hides to other big name makers. I will not use a leather that will not provide a quality holster. Returns and Warranty All holsters will be warranted for a period of 1 year to be free from defects. This expressly means that the stitching will not come "undone", the leather will not disintegrate, and that the molding of the holster will remain true to the original firearm for which the order was created. If a return is needed for a defect, the customer must arrange the return in advance with Bluegrass Holsters and must submit a copy of the original receipt with the holster. Failure to do either one of these will result in the holster being returned without review to the sender. Copies of any emails regarding the order may be accepted in lieu of the original receipt based on my discretion only. The defective policy WILL NOT cover abuse which is defined by prolonged exposure to water or the elements. It is the customer's responsibility to prevent these kinds of problems. An occasional customer will have "buyer's remorse" or may simply not like the way it sits on them. We do not want to add to your holster box. The holster may be "evaluated" for a period of 3 days. During this time I would expect the customer to evaluate the fit with their firearm, I would expect them to wear the holster to determine the way it rides on their belt, and I would expect LIMITED insertions of the weapon during this time. IN SHORT, it should not take much time to determine you have an issue with a holster....and it does not take a hundred draws to determine that a concern exists. Returns made during the evaluation period will be refunded at the full cost of the holster minus the original shipping cost. The customer must seek a return authorization number before returning the holster. The customer must state their reason for the return and they must pay the cost of return shipping. PLEASE NOTE: Bluegrass Holsters reserves the right to reject a return based on abuse. However, we understand that some LEO's can't prevent some of the situations that they encounter, and thus I will work with them regarding traumatic holster situations. Returns made after the evaluation period will only be accepted for defect. All returns must be preceded by a return authorization and must be returned at the customer expense. Discounts and "Stock Items" Discounts may apply in the future. No discount currently exists. Stock items will be limited to holsters returned during the "3 day evaluation period". These holsters will show little wear and will retain the 1 year warranty on defects. We do not expect to have many of these holsters. Any such items will be posted on the website or firearm related forums. Leather Dyes One well known maker says you can have his holsters in any color you want as long as it is in black. I thought of that, too, as the majority of customers will ask for that color. I want to offer other options to my customers and thus will offer the following additional dyes: mahogany, a light brown, reddish tan, and a dark brown. Please understand that the dye companies test and name their dye colors after applying them to a white background, NOT typical leather.Leather is a natural product with characteristics which cannot always be predicted. Each non-dyed hide will have it's own underlying shade of "tan" which means that any light colored dye may look somewhat different from the stated color. Additionally, dye uptake can vary from hide to hide, and from various places within the same hide. While obvious defects are avoided when selecting the section of the hide for the holster components, this does not eliminate any dye related issues completely. In short, each holster will be unique and will contain characteristics which make it one-of-a-kind. All holsters (other than black) are hand dyed by dipping in the chosen colored dye. All holsters are then finished and sealed. Black holsters are made from black drum dyed leather. This dye application is done after the tanning process. I over-dye in black as a completion step just prior to any finishing and sealant. I do this to obtain the richest black possible. Warnings While a holster may allow you to insert various firearms from different makers, and some will allow insertion of various firearms from the same maker, Bluegrass Holsters strongly discourages carrying any firearm in a holster which is NOT DESIGNED for that specific firearm. Examples of exceptions are when using a belt slide designed for specific firearm families (Glock 17/19/26, 1911's, XD Subcompact/Service/Tactical, M&P compact and service models, and Sig 228/226). Additionally, some holsters will allow an interchange between certain firearms that are routinely understood to be interchangeable (e.g. Glock 19/23/32). The fact that a slide dimension is similar or the same between a 9mm/.40 and a .45 does not mean that the ejection port will be the same. The ejection port is one of the molded retention areas and will be broken down if this warning is not heeded. Evidence of this occurring will be grounds to void the warranty. If you have additional questions Please feel free to contact me via PM or email. I will try to answer your concerns fully. Thank you for your business. Apparently I overlooked your post here and I apologize.
That being said, I do not have a photo of the j-frame pocket holster yet. I did not take any of the last couple as I was not thinking about it at the time. I do have a PF9 with pocket holster showing on my website. I will make sure to have one of them available ASAP. |
