Well, nobody in their right mind is going to send you some of theirs. Plain and simple. What's your idea of a trial size of Gunzilla? I recommend the pump spray. The 1.9oz was plenty enough for me to decide without taking much risk, and that actually lasted me a while for research purposes. When it was almost empty, I went for the 8oz. Still using it, but might need another to get me through the next couple years. So here's a deal for you.............become a site supporter tonight, and along with my order, I'll get you that trial size 1.9oz and have it sent to you within the next week. Just PM me your shipping address. I can't do it for everybody, and the main man can't send everybody a sample. So this one's for you and you alone. By midnight and it's done.

It is clearly "Witches Brew". I use it to remove paint too - gentle on the hands.

Using it for the first time this morning on my M1 carbine, which I shot last Saturday and hadn't cleaned yet. I started at about 9:30 this morning and am still not finished. I realize the directions say that the first cleaning may be slow, but I haven't owned this gun long and its been shoot twice and this is the third cleaning, counting its initial break down and cleaning before shooting it the first time. When I cleaned it the last time I used break free, which I thought had gotten everything out of the barrel after the firs 50 rounds of Remington fmjs. Last week I tested some corbon dpx .30 carbine and federal jsp 30 carbine(it like the corbon, didn't like the federal one bit, more on that later), along with shooting my S&W M66 and M60. I cleaned the revovlers but didn't have time to do the carbine. Anyway, have been run a dampened patch through, then the brsuh and then dry patches, and repeating several times. Then running a wet patch through and letting it sit for 20 minutes, and repeating the forementioned process, a lot of black coming out of that barrel, amazing. Is this normal the first time to take so long to get it clean?

I have been looking for a true non-toxic biodegradable "no-cancer" CLP. After moving away from the standard H#9, Breakfree, etc, I tried Prolix and was reasonably happy until a high intensity 2 day range session with 800+ rounds through my CZ-P01. The Prolix just didn't cut it to clean all the carbon. I have also had my doubts about the true "nontoxic" nature of Prolix (just smells wrong for a nontoxic substance)
Next stop was Ballistol. Smells awful, and strongly, and contrary to some reports, persistently! It was also kind of, well, gross. It was thick and gunky especially after the prolix. It didn't seem to clean any better. Time to move on. I really wanted to get that gunky Ballistol off, so being of an independent, inquisitive nature, as well as preferring cheap things, I tried to mix up a batch of Ed's Red (despite the cancer) though I was unable to obtain K1 Kerosene "out of season". I did use ATF and mineral spirits, which helped some, enough that I felt comfortable that the pistol was back in working order. Still, I'm not satisfied. I don't want to have to be outside wearing nitrile gloves and thinking I should be wearing a respirator, and I'm lazy, so a CLP (maybe with a touch of extra lube on the rails) is what I'm going for. I'm placing the Gunzilla order. |

Glad to hear you'll be sticking around! Good reminder too.......I'm down to almost half an 8oz bottle now. I have used Gunzilla on all of my firearms now, and just this last week cleaned my Savage 110fp in .308 better than it ever has been cleaned before. The Gunzilla worked real well on my Bushmaster bolt face and chamber. I've let the two 10/22's go for a while now since they are the most PITA to detail clean, but I have a new stock to finish for one of them, and then it will be back out to the range. Once I break out the Otis cleaning kit, I'll be going to town on those as well with the Gunzilla. I figure on getting the barrels as clean as the first day they saw lead.

Do you lube your AR with anything other than Gunzilla? I have been thinking not. Based on your original review I picked up the 8oz bottle use it and only GZ on all my handguns. Thinking I'd go the same route with the AR. Thoughts?

I might have to give the gunzilla a try. I'd been using break free and used some of the gun scrubber that's synthetic safe this week on my glock polymer. It smelled like rubbing alcohol in an aerosol to me. Seemed to do ok, but I'm willing to try something else.

Gunzilla is what I use exclusively now on everything, for everything other than my SIG P220 frame/slide rails, and I use a needle oiler bottle of Zero Friction for that simply because I started to see wear spots at the left rear of the rails after less than 500 rounds. I'm guessing that might be a sort of habit I could quit now since I've learned this is common on the SIG pistols, and more noticeable to me because my SIG pistol is a two-tone, and the wear on the black frame from the stainless slide is very noticeable. Other than that, everything else has come crystal clean and well lubed with sparing amounts of the Gunzilla from the spray bottle. I've also learned to nurse the nozzle and squirt onto the head of a q-tip for hard to reach places where I don't want a full spritz of spray. As far as the AR, Gunzilla is the only thing I'm using on that for cleaning AND lube. Don't get me wrong...........CLP was what we used in the military, and I've been depending on it from those days until last year (some 26 years) for most of my firearms and especially on the AR-15 since it had become habit from my introduction to the M-16, and if the military used it, it must be good to go an anything right? I still have several squeeze bottles of Break Free CLP, and one huge can of aerosol carbon cutter I don't know what I'll be doing with now. My Glocks have been running all out on the Gunzilla since I got my first bottle. But we all know Glocks can run for a long time without any care at all right? So the Gunzilla has gotten it's run at everything AND, my wife had several long guns in storage for a period of time that have some slight exterior rusting issues, and I'm doing a Gunzilla treatment on those barrels as well, and thus far it seems to be dissipating the rust. I'd like to not go to drastic measures in order to remove. Don't get me wrong......I've always loved and cared for all of my firearms, and cleaned them methodically and thoroughly to the best of my abilities and the products I chose to do those tasks. Gun cleaning has never been considered a chore for me since I like to keep them at their best and to have a long life. But with Gunzilla, I'm using less supplies (patches and q-tips), and less time doing the cleaning. Now that I've got my wife and her sister hooked on the shooting sports, I'm doing more cleaning than ever it seems. With less than 12oz total of the Gunzilla I've used in the past year or less (since my first use and review), I don't feel badly like I did at first about all of the unused firearm cleaning supplies I had previously bought and used collecting dust in the cabinet. I've more than broke even on that score and what I might have used or had to restock in the other stuff over that period of time. If it seems like I'm rambling on about this....maybe I am. But you've just got to realize that I can't seem to say enough about this product. Maybe I could have put in simpler terms and reach a smaller crowd by saying 'non-toxic', or 'environmentally friendly'. It's hard to tell, but I hope this reply answers some more of the questions about Gunzilla. By the way....I've kept more money aside for buying ammo with Gunzilla. It's cheap considering the costs of other stuff bought for specific applications. Just like Wal Mart is my one stop for shop (so long as they keep selling ammo).......Gunzilla is my one stop firearms care favorite. You don't have to like it, but you're gonna.
