Todays set is the result of a decision process. I had a small piece of walnut and in the middle of it was this gorgeous burl "bubble". I saw that I could either cut two sets of blanks from it and have each set with a little over 50% burl coverage, or I could carefully cut one set that would have 100% burl coverage. I went for the one set and full coverage, and now that I've seen the finished result, I think I made the right decision. This is a great set!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Sarge ![]() ![]() |

Here's a set of full camel bone that just cleared the shop last night. This is unbleached camel bone and it has the coloring and lines that make it resemble mastadon. You can bleach the bone and it looks identical to natural Ivory.
Just for rhinokrk, this set is in OFFICER size. ![]() Enjoy, Sarge ![]() ![]() |

Todays beauty is provided by an Australian wood called Horristes Burl. Great red color and striking burl pattern make this wood a real eye pleaser. Enjoy!
Sarge P.S. - I know my overlighting of the pic makes them look orange in the first pic. They're not. The second pic is closer to true color, but even it is a little light. ![]() ![]() |

I know, I know...... I'm trying man! Unfortunately, I have this pesky habit of eating a couple times a day, and sleeping for at least an hour every night. Throw that on top of the fact that my wife and kids like to see me at least once a week so they can remember what I look like and you understand my problem.
I'm serioiusly considering making this a full time gig in the next year, but for now I have to balance things. I've purchased both a P7 and a BHP just to make grips for them, but haven't had time to start those lines up yet. One of these days though......... ![]() In the meantime, I'm glad you like and enjoy the beauty of the woods! Thanks! Sarge |
