Thank you for the pics. Is big brother the one your husband was building for you? All done now? Very nice pair of .45's you have there!

Todays set is kind of cool. Not only is it a beautiful RED Amboyna Burl, but if you notice, the red and pattern together make it look like fire. This is just topped off by the natural darker color at the top which even has a little black speckling in it. Resembles smoke. I couldn't have planned it any better than what just showed up in the wood. Beautiful set.
Enjoy, Sarge ![]() ![]() |

Todays set is one of those "Just because I wanted to" sets. It's black paper micarta with Marine Emblems set into each panel and then smoothed over by resin to make a flat surface instead of being sunk or at best rough. Finished in satin poly. I wish I was a better photgrapher, but not much I can do about that deficiency right now. Hope you enjoy the pics, and to any and all service members who may be looking - Thank you for your service!

Todays set is in Black and White Ebony, which as you can see, I crosscut. This wood has some great veining running throughout it, but this is really brought to the forefront when it's crosscut. It does however make it more difficult to work (cutting across the grain of the wood opens up a Pandora's box of little problems during the fabrication stage with the "extreme" heat of the sander during the shaping). Once fabricated, the wood is wonderful and solid. The visual draw is strong with the stark black veining patterns against the gold of the base wood. The patterns are beautiful.
Hope you enjoy the pics, Sarge ![]() ![]() |

Those are spectacular and were well worth the extra effort of dealing with the troublesome end-grain. (easy for me to say...I know...as I was not the one doing the sanding and finishing)
![]() They sure are great looking. I also love the way the black grain line hits right through the top grip screw bushing holes. |

This is a set of Buckeye Burls that is going straight to Fusion to be put on a good customers new bobtail. Very nice buckeye here! The cream in with the blue/green along with the curly figure - Wow! It's a joy working with such beautiful woods!
Enjoy, Sarge ![]() |

Glad you like them, but you should see them in person. The depth goes forever and doesn't really translate in the pic.

I don't have a pic of them on the weapon, but check out the wood on this set of Horristes Burl. These have a magwell cut and were special ordered by a customer along with 6 other sets in various woods. This piece of wood was just flat out cool. Austrailia has MANY gorgeous woods and I'm still trying to hit them all.
