Truly appreciate your Children!
Decided to split this off from the old thread as it takes a different path.
Dropped my Daughter off at swim practice after a hectic Monday.
She leaned back in the car and said, "Thanks Dad. You always find a way for me to follow my heart, no matter how busy you are."
Yep, she is a blessing that 15 years ago I thought I would never be blessed with children of my own.
Last week we watched the movie "Brave" talked about where she's been and what she wants to do/be in the future. She said she wants to do as much as possible because she doesn't know how long she'll be here. She wants to be like Rita. You see, Rita never let her condition stop her from accomplishing what she wanted to do.
Rita is a Sister to a good Friend of mine. She passed away as a result of a seizure when my Daughter was seven. A few days later, my Daughter asked if she was going to die too? Talk about a humbling experience. What do you tell a seven year old who just realized that what she deals with on a daily basis could be fatal?
I fumbled through that day the same as I have ever since. One day at a time relying on God to provide the guidance and strength to carry me through, good days and bad.
Cherish every moment you are granted with your children! It may be a wild and hectic ride, but I wouldn't miss it for anything in this world.
Thanks for letting me hang around.
