    Old Vet making progress

Here is a message that OV posted on the other forum to which I belong (that he wasn't banned from by the hospital)

I'm all set to be pardoned from acute rehab tomorrow am. Then it's home care for a couple weeks and outpatient PT after that. Legs getting better each day, but it ain't easy. Doc asked about pain med effectiveness. Told him I was trying to go as lightly as I could. He said don't, he could resolve any addition to the low levels of oxycodone than any pain-induced setbacks. The surgeon was really happy about the healing and movement to date.

And with that, it's off to PT again.
So, batten down the hatches, folks - OV hopefully will be back here soon!
Getting old was not on my list of "things to do" in the Golden Years!

Good to hear he's doing better.

I'd tell him to behave, but we are talking about OV...

    Glad he's doing well.

Someone should tell him not to mix bourbon with his pain meds. Or a if he does, to at least stir them up really good.

I heard he likes them shaken, not stirred.

    Get better @OldVet .

And if he mixes pain meds with bourbon he needs to be logged on and posting so we can monitor him.

Thank you for keeping us posted. Glad that he has been pardoned and not forcibly removed.

Sure he will be dancing a jig in no time.

Great point! Pain meds should only be mixed with scotch. :D

The cocktail he REALLY needs if he's on oxy-anything is the prune juice and butter (hot slider, I think it's called).

    Thanks for the update.
We are all pulling for him here and miss his wit and wisdom.
    God Speed Old Vet!
This is what I love about this forum when compared to the others out there.
It feels more like a family than just a forum.
